Beginner Tip

Minimize the number of molds you carry. If you have three discs that all do the same thing, eliminate two of them and learn the third one better. Fewer molds to pick from means fewer decisions to make on the tee.

Most Memorable Moment

My most memorable disc golf moment would have to be the Claiborne Doubles Championships last year in Homer, LA. My daughter and I were both registered to compete in our respective divisions, but both our partners had to withdraw last second. Even though we normally don’t play well together, we decided to give it a shot and played in the Mixed Doubles division. After two rounds we were down by two, but during the 3rd (and most difficult) round, which was the infamous 6-6-6 layout, we made a comeback to win by three! It was the proudest I’ve ever been, not only of her, but to be able to call myself her dad!

Disc Golf Career Goals

My career goals in a nutshell are to always be improving. I hope to reach the 1000 rating benchmark, as well as tour full-time. I’d also like to grow my personal brands to the point where I can work full-time in the sport as well. Ultimately, the main goal is to grow the sport in many different ways and help promote Westside Discs to the best of my ability!

In The Bag

Latitude 64 Opto Ballista Pro

This disc goes FAR! It's my absolute max distance driver.

Dynamic Discs Lucid Defender

I use this disc for controlled max distance. When the wind makes the Ballista Pro a little "iffy", I'm reaching for the Defender every time.

Westside Discs VIP War Horse

I was throwing an Enforcer for shorter controlled distance shots, but this disc quickly replaced it. It's super beef and predictable in all conditions.

Westside Discs VIP Ahti

When the War Horse is too long, I'm throwing the Ahti. It's so reliable off the tee as well as longer approaches when I need to know exactly where it's going to land.

Latitude 64 Opto Explorer

What doesn't this disc do. It's so straight that you can put it on any line and know how it's going to fly. I can trust it on shots from 350'-410'. Absolutely love it!

Westside Discs VIP Harp

I know, I's technically a putter, but I throw it as a mid, both off the tee and for upshots. Love the stability and the fact that I can hit it hard and trust it not to give up on me.

Westside Discs VIP Anvil

This is a new disc in my bag, but it's become a must-have already. If you haven't thrown one yet, you're missing out on a bunch of saved strokes. It fits perfectly, both in speed and stability, in between my Harp and the Justice.

Dynamic Discs Lucid Justice

Beef, meat-hook, whatever you want to call it. This disc does one thing: hyzer. It's great on almost every line I can put it on and there's zero doubt that it's coming back on a hyzer line at some point in the flight.

Westside Discs BT Medium Crown

For me the Crown is a slightly more stable Judge. Once I beat in the Judge I started busting through the right side of the chains, but I found that the Crown finishes into the pole, which is what I was looking for.
